Last updated 3 November 2026. This policy explains how the CORTEX website handles information you provide and technical information needed to run the service.
CORTEX is a college-wide student community at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram University. It welcomes interested students from every branch. For privacy questions or requests, contact the CORTEX team.
Depending on how you use the site, CORTEX may process:
Event registration information is used to administer the event. The registration form explains this and asks for your consent before submission.
We use information to create and secure accounts, operate profiles and community features, review membership applications, administer events, respond to support requests, send service emails, prevent abuse and maintain the website.
The site uses an essential session cookie to keep you signed in and browser storage to remember your display preferences and cookie choice. These are separate from optional analytics.
If Google Analytics is configured, its scripts and analytics storage are enabled only after you choose “Accept analytics.” Choosing “Reject optional” prevents the analytics scripts from loading. You can change your choice using “Cookie settings” in the footer. We do not use analytics consent to enable advertising personalization.
Information is processed by providers needed to run the service, including the website host, database host and email delivery provider. They process information to provide those services. CORTEX does not sell personal information. We may disclose information where required by law or where needed to protect the site, its users or the society.
Information is kept while needed to operate your account and community features, meet operational and safety needs, or comply with applicable obligations. You can update profile information in account settings. To ask a question or request access, correction or deletion, contact the CORTEX team. Some records may need to be retained where necessary for security, moderation or legal reasons.
The site uses HTTPS and access controls, and stores password hashes rather than plain-text passwords. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Links to external websites are governed by those websites’ own privacy practices.
We may update this policy when the service changes. The current version and its update date will appear on this page. For questions, email thecortex.aiml26@gmail.com.
